We enjoyed our 09-10 season with all the ICA family.  You are all a joy and our time together will remain in our hearts with fond memories of our fun times together for our 15th Anniversary season.

We welcome again the 10-11 team members to our family, a long tradition of excellance, and can't wait to get started.  The new gym is almost here...A Dream, believed and finally achieved!

Please note the calendar on "schedule of events" on this website. Parent meetings will take place during the week of May 24th on the tumbling night, during the class time.  Please consider your attendance mandatory.  There will be forms to fill out and information you need to make a decision about your child moving forward with the ICA program.  You must have a debit/credit/check card (either one) on file with ICA for your account "in case" of non-payment or emergency.  Please bring a card with you to the meeting.  This information is locked up and is seen by Janice Decker only when emergency arises.

Most Sincerely,

Janice

Above is a link to a video that I think would be very helpful for parents and coaches of young athletes to watch.  I think you will find it very informative.  It can be stressful to be a cheer or gymnastics athlete and this video gives great advice on parenting and coaching such athletes.  I encourage all ICA parents to take a look.

All 09-10 Accounts must be paid in full prior to May 1st competition.  All uniforms will be turned in clean and on a hanger.  Please make sure your child's name is labeled with a removeable label with her name so we can make sure we have complete uniform returns and that your child recieves credit for return of her uniform on May 8th at 12:30pm. This return time is mandatory. Banquet information to follow.  Parent Meeting for next season is also being arranged and will appear on the icaviking.com schedule of event calendar, as soon as the date and times are set. Please check the calendar regularly for updates on meetings or practice times.

We are now doing our annual spring tryout evaluations:  We have had many take advantage of the early opportunity to get a spot on the 2010-2011 team and we welcome them to our sweet 16 season.

Sweet 16 holds many new happenings and some changes in the program.  Some of which will be announced at banquet, but for now we want everyone to have clear instructions for May 2010 at the gym.  For the girls on the current team staying to tumble and the new girls and boys that we will be starting up with.

Hi Families,

With Competition season coming it is time to get organized. Volunteers are needed to make our season a success:  Volunteer by signing up on the sign up sheet at the gym or shoot me an email that you are interested.  Below is a description of each committee. Remember that anytime ICA parents are asked for money or money is involved it must be approved by Mrs. Janice. There is a limit on spirit purchases, we like to keep things as fair among teams as possible and don't want there to be nothing to look forward to when we go over board with young teams.

Its hard to top it if it gets out of hand.  Anytime flyers are handed out to the team, they also must be approved by Mrs. Janice.  Any event that involves the team must also get approval, we need to make sure that events don't interfer with the practice schedule or extra practce that may be held during competition season.

Spirit Committee:  We need at least two parents from each Squad. These parents help make competitions fun by collecting donations from the rest of the teams and putting together goodie bags or spirit items to celebrate competition.  Sometimes there will be just donations needed/collected of water bottles, or snacks to put in goodie bags, while other times the events may be celebrated by something a little grander.  Spirit Committee also makes signs or noise makers and things to make it exciting in the competition arena for the teams.

Social Committee:  We need at least two parents from each squad.  These parents are involved in planning the social gatherings of the team such as Christmas party, banquet, pj parties, or other activities for fun for the team outside of practice.

Fundraising:  As many parents as possible. These parents help organize and work fundraising events.  Good ideas are always needed.

Thanks for volunteering today!!

I sent out an email recently about Oct. 8th, Woodley's Lawn Center, 4:30-6pm Social Gathering, Scarecrow Contest.  All girls invited.

Signup sheet at the gym on the table in the cheer room.  Donations needed to build the scarecrow  to look like a cheerleader.

If you haven't ordered your shoes, they are required so you must do so immediately. If you haven't turned in Fall order sheet, do so immediately the deadline has past.  Please don't miss these deadlines.  The ones that miss the deadlines are always sad later when told they can't get a hoodie or windsuit.  So lets not have anyone sad this season!  Bloomers are on that order sheet, you have to have those, and hairbows.  Hairbows will probably be different than last year.  Makeup for Jr. and Sr. will be similar to last year.

Thanks

Janice
